Experiencing western country life wouldn't be complete without witnessing first hand their wholesome pleasures reflected in their ballads and dances. On several occasions you will probably join in singing western songs around the campfire while roasting marshmallows or partaking in s'mores. At midweek, a guitar accompanist provides songbooks so you can sound like Westerners too.
Your first evening will get you in the swing of things with a professional instructor revisiting the Virginia Reel and basic square dance. Then, things get a bit more lively with the introduction of basic line dancing steps.
Apprehension soon becomes familiar dance steps that you can't help but take home with you. And, more than once, everyone will eventually find that they momentarily have two left feet and can't help but laugh at theirs' and others' confusion. In your week ahead, this shared anxiety will invariably develop into camaraderie with your saddle pals unlike any other.
Other evening activities include going on a hayride drawn by our mammoth shires with their feather feet and riding in an original Yellowstone bus with a canvas top.
The last night, a live western band gives everyone a chance to show what they learned earlier and perform their line dance steps. Or, try out the western two-step, waltzes, or swing as you choose. Join the staff and dance the night away until it's good night, ladies!
